Important Superintendent Update: LaVille Elementary School Moves To Stage 3

Important Superintendent Update: LaVille Elementary School Moves To Stage 3

October 7, 2020

Dear Lancer Families,

I regret to inform you that LaVille Elementary will be moving to Stage 3, Virtual Learning, starting tomorrow morning, October 8 th . We are making this decision after seeing the rise in both students and staff who have either become positive for the virus or a close contact to positive people. This decision was made in consultation with Dr. Mark Fox from the St. Joseph County Health Department. Our plan as of this writing is to return to Stage 1, In-Person Learning, on Monday, October 19 th . The Jr. Sr. High will continue to be in Stage 1.

The Elementary will continue with breakfast and lunches during this time. We will plan to deliver food to homes on Friday of this week and Monday of next week. The cafeteria will continue to use the list previously used during the last time we were in Virtual Learning. If you would like to make sure you are on the list, then
please call the Elementary office.

Finally, I can’t stress enough how important it is for students to stay home if they develop any symptoms, or if they come in close contact with a know positive person. If students come to school with symptoms, then it will be extremely hard to keep the spread low. This will lead to more shifts to Stage 3. Let’s try to keep each other safe and stay in school!

Stay safe,

Mitchell D. Mawhorter
