UNUSC Gets Deep Cleaning

UNUSC Gets Deep Cleaning

LAKEVILLE, IN. - With the recent coronavirus sending students home, laying off workers, and unexpectedly taking the lives of so many people around the world, a new normal has been created.  With students and staff away from LaVille Elementary School and LaVille Jr.-Sr. High School to self-quarantine, the Union-North United School Corporation custodial staff is taking the opportunity to give each school a deep clean.

"We are going through each classroom and doing a deep clean as if we are getting ready for an upcoming school year, said UNUSC Director of Operations Zac Moore. "That process starts in the athletic area by using the KY-VAC machine to clean all showers and floors. After that we proceed to lockers in the locker rooms. Once completed in the athletic area we start in a hallway and clean all desks and lockers and hard surfaces. The process can be very time consuming but necessary. We use a variety of cleaning products in this process."

With the deep cleaning process, when the all clear is given for students and staff to return to school, they can do so knowing each school has been cleaned and sanitized for their return.
