A Note From Superintendent Mawhorter

A Note From Superintendent Mawhorter

Dear Parents,

I am writing to make sure you were aware of some happenings at the school this upcoming week.

First, as you might be aware each building is still undergoing construction, and even though it will be fantastic once completed, construction creates unforeseen issues.  One issue we are dealing with right now is the lack of reliable heating in our buildings.  Therefore, please make every effort to bundle your student in layers on days when the temperature will be cold in the morning.  Monday might well be one of those days.  In the meantime, we have construction workers onsite working to finish as soon as possible.

Secondly, this Monday will be Parent-Teacher conferences for both buildings.  Please stop by to see your teachers and check out the building progress as well.  Our schools are starting to look amazing, and we are more than happy to show off the work that has been done to this point.  Following Monday night's conferences the corporation will have a two hour delayed start on Tuesday, October 15th.

Finally, LaVille will have its very first trial run at an eLearning day on Wednesday, October 16th.  Both schools have been putting in a great deal of time to prepare for this day.  Staff has tried to make sure everything has been well thought out.  Still, we know it will be a learning experience for us as well.  The eLearning day will be followed by a much deserved Fall break for parents, staff and students from Thursday until the return on the following Tuesday.

Please look for more information from your student's school about the topics mentioned here.  Thank you for your patience as we continue to get better.

Sincerely,

Mitchell D. Mawhorter
