As of June 18, 2019, all the asbestos removal work on the 2 nd floor of the Laville Junior-Senior High School has
been successfully completed. All final clearance air-sampling results were below the AHERA clearance level of
0.01 fibers per cubic centimeter.
Presently, the final upgrading activities on the 1 st floor are in process and will be completed by the start of
school in August of this year. We have chosen to do this work before school starts to minimize the number of
people in the building during removal as an extra precaution. The downside to doing this will be some rooms
will not be finished by August 7 th . Therefore, students and teachers might be in classrooms without tile flooring
at the start of the school year in the Jr. Sr. High.
As on the 2 nd floor, our consultant, ACM Engineering & Environmental Services, Inc., will be performing daily
ambient air monitoring and final air clearances, both inside of the 1 st floor asbestos removal areas and in
adjacent areas. All air samples will be analyzed daily to verify that the quality of air within the school is
acceptable for occupancy.
As with the 2 nd floor, asbestos removal work on the 1 st floor will be performed in accordance with all local, state
and federal regulations.
